Students will be able to:
- introduce themselves correctly in Spanish to the teacher and fellow students
- Use the phrase "me gusta" and "no me gusta" to describe a couple activities they like and don't like using English and Spanish
- Understand the classroom rules and requirements
- Demonstrate a variety of methods for studying vocabulary in a language class
- Meet and greet people in different stations in life using the appropriate register
- Listen to different people speaking and identify the appropriate register
- Distinguish between a variety of standard classroom commands
- Tell 3 other students to be quiet, open their books, close their books, stand up, and sit down in Spanish
- Count from one to 20 in Spanish
- Say what yesterday's, today's, and tomorrow's date is in clear and articulate Spanish
- Ask 3 students what the date is.
- Tell 3 important dates in history.
- Tell time using Spanish conventions and vocabulary
- Understand the cultural significance of time in Spanish-speaking countries
- Correctly identify vocabulary pertaining to greetings and introductions, numbers 1-30, and classroom commands
